Mixed Media Make June Liza's Craft Shop Design Team

Hi Crafty Bloggers

How are we all ?? It's been raining non stop here all day so
perfect for getting messy in the craft room ;0)

I have decorated a wooden tag from Liza's Craft Shop <3

I have painted the two parts of the wooden tag on a craft mat with 13 arts guesso.

Once the paint is dry I use a stencil on the top half
with homemade texture paste .

I like to let the texture paste air dry for a couple of hours .
I then glue the two pieces together and also paint the back with guesso and leave to dry .

I then arrange some mulberry flowers and metal embellishments in the center . I manipulate the flowers to the shape I want with painting a light coating of guesso and also on the metal pieces. Lastly I add some prima pebbles in the gaps at the bottom and in the center of the metal piece. I use the fabritac glue again.

I have chosen 3 Lindy's stampgang sprays to colour .

I spray the lighter colour at the top and then the darker ones to the bottom. I spray several times until I like the colour .

Once dry I rub on decoart  Metallic Lustre around the edges and on the metal pieces, pebbles and stamens and use an old small paintbrush for areas to finish .

I then add some multi matt medium and
add some fine glitter around the pebbles.

I then decide to add some flatback pearls as I have a few small gaps.

Lastly I use black ink onto a chipboard sentiment and use for the top .

Liza has a new website coming very soon with just about everything I have used above  so please check out all the awesome mixed media goodies <3

I hope you are inspired to get crafty

Mixed Media Makes May

Hi Crafty Bloggers

I have been dabbling again this month with different mixed mediums and trying out new tutorials on youtube and getting inspiration from Maremi's Creative Cafe on facebook <3

First up the rest of the 52 Cafe Cards Challenge

O - Obsession  - currently is Mixed Media lol . I have used acrylic paint through a stencil on the background and then used the one stroke painting technique from Marta's video to make the heart and flowers .

P- Peace

I have stamped the tag and coloured with a spray . The feathers were another stamp on vellum and embossed with white . I have added some pearls glitter and a brad to finish .

Q - Quote

I have used a stencil with sprays for the background . I have stamped the quotes and used die cut leaves and finished with small mulberry roses .

R- Roses

Here I have painted a watercolour rose cut and put on some fabric and added some word stickers . I followed a tutorial from Jay Lee on youtube.

S- Spring

Here I have used watercolours again to paint the bluebells
and butterfly from an image idea on google pictures.

T - Teal

I have used cling film on spray and left for an hour and that made the background . I then sprayed some chipboard and flowers .

U - Unity  & V - Vintage

For Unity I used a die for the stacked tea cups and had used a stencil with dry brushing ink underneath . I used the residue from acrylic paints for the splatters and lastly word stickers .
For Vintage I use design papers  and used a stamp with embossing for the wooden background (in green) and added a frame and some die cut tags around the edge.

Faces
Had a go at my first face using the elegant marker and water brush . I need to measure the eyes much better next time but pleased with it for first try .

Moved on to trying a face on a journal page had first followed the water colour circle video by Marta then I drew the face and cut out and used lots of stamping and some spray and texture paste which I coloured around her ,

My next attempt was to try a tutorial by Toni Burt with painting the face onto the page this time with using tissue paper and acrylic paint on the page . Learned so much and will keep practicing as enjoyed this so much .

More water colouring with Marta's video with this butterfly
loved how it turned out !!

Lastly I tried the acrylic pouring technique for beginners  yet again another awesome tutorial from Marta !! My acrylic paints colours are limited so not the best colours but enjoyed seeing the result . Made such a mess too lol

Thank you for reading about my mixed media journey ;0)

The beautiful flowers are made from a rose die with flat back pearls in the middle . I have used  lace trim and added more pearls . The resin I have added guesso and some sprays and oxide inks to colour . The lace die, resin and pearls are all from The Trinket Parlour.  Lastly the sentiment sticker is from Tim Holtz .

Mixed Media Canvas Liza's Craft Shop Design Team Anyone for Pizza ?

Hi Crafty Bloggers

I have been playing again <3
with the mixed media box from Liza's Craft shop
and I wanted to try a circular canvas ??
did not have one so used this card that came in a pizza  lol

I gave it a wipe over and applied guesso to the front back and sides . I think next time I would glue two together to make it stronger !!
When dry I used texture paste and stencil for the top left hand side. When the texture paste was dry I used the magical shaker ( brown) randomly over the base . I then sprayed water all over to activate with water mister . The less water makes the pigments brighter and more water make the pigments go together to make the brown . I used paper towel to dab up puddles of water and dried in heat gun until happy . I then used the tattered angels mists on the textured part and around areas that had gaps .

I have painted the wooden heart and metal rose embellishment with guesso . I used the sprays again when guesso dry to colour them and left to dry . I used a rectangular piece of corrugated card that I had lightly painted with guesso and had added magicals in the grooves loved that result like coloured stripes .

I have layered the tags on the wooden heart and corrugated card . I found some twine and tucked the knots for the circles under the tag . I used some angel hair and put a flower in the center . The key was painted with guesso and painted with the magical shaker and then some gold beads added with glossy accents . I have used a glass cabachon and cut a circle from the design paper and glued it to the key with glossy accents.

I have embossed this chippie with gold glitter embossing powder and added nuvo drops here and there always do this last as take overnight to set . I have touched up some of the flowers with guesso too !!

I hope you will try it out and enjoy munching pizza too lol

Please check out all the awesome mixed media products at Liza's Craft Shop the prices are awesome and the Mixed Media Kits you can pay installments which is fab too !!

Mini Canvas

Hi Crafty Bloggers

I have made a mini canvas it is super cute !!

I have used another 2 teeny weeny canvases and some 7 Gypsies design paper which I have adhered with matte gel and then used clear guesso over the papers .

I have let that dry and then added texture paste with a stencil on each corresponding corner opposite from the mini canvases.
I embossed the chipboard with white embossing powder and put that on top of the canvas squares with ranger multi matt medium . I have painted metal butterflies , small glass cabochons. resin pieces and tiny roses with guesso using little paint like a dry brush technique. I found the sentiment from 7 dots studio.

I have sprayed the whole flat canvas before adding embellishments with Lindy's Starburst sprays . When the guesso was dry on the embellishments I sprayed them too separately from the main canvas .

Lastly I have added decoart metallic lustre to the stenciled areas and on the resins to highlight and lastly a few flicks with the chalk pen to finish !!

I hope you are inspired to get crafty . The resins and butterflies are from The Trinket Parlour on Facebook and the chipboard, Sprays, 7 Gypsies
design paper & 7 dots studio sentiment  and lustre are all from Liza's Craft Shop

Mixed Media Jar attack Design Team Liza's Craft Shop - Step by Step Picture Tutorial

Hi Crafty Bloggers

How are you all today ??
I have been having crafty fun with a small glass jar !!
It's perfect for my brushes <3

Here is a quick guide if you would like to try it out .
I have painted a small glass jar with 13 arts guesso love this as really thick .
Leave to dry does it not need to be perfect . I painted the bottom too

I have some tissue paper which I cut into some strips picking the patterns I like

I then use modge podge or you can use gel medium I have glued them randomly on the jar under and over each piece

again at the bottom .

I then use a large metal butterfly and paint with guesso I dont put too much paint on the brush so it does not clog in any holes but if it does I use a cotton bud to unclog.

once the butterfly is dry I  I use gel to adhere art stones or you can use beads to the jar and on the butterfly for texture

I then used Lindy's stamp gang sprays and shaker again and butterfly . I just keep adding spay and use a paper towel for any puddles and dry with heat gun. It's all about layering until you are happy with the effect

I then glue the butterfly with e6000 as will hold better .

I have added some rope around the top glueing again the join with E6000.
Lastly some flicks with my white chalk pen and it's finished .

There it is fun and easy to alter

I hope you will be inspired to have a go !!

Canvas with Liza's Craft Shop Goodies Design Team - Project Tutorial

Hi Crafty Bloggers

I am showing you a canvas I made with lots of goodies from
This is my design team creation I do just adore the shop as you can buy everything from tools to mediums to embellishments and the prices are awesome as I have looked for example at American products and the shipping and custom charges are crazy so I was so happy to see Liza stocking these items at such a fab price !! There are so many awesome brands .

I am still learning Mixed Media and hope you will be inspired to give it a go and get messy lol !!

First of all I started with a cheap canvas from Wilko . I have used 13 arts guesso it's lovely and thick I have painted the sides. I have also applied it to the wooden tag from the shop . I used a cotton bud to unclog the hole in the tag .

I have used gel to attach the little wooden pieces that are used to stretch the canvas.  I am using them on the project so do not throw them away !!

I now paint the wooden pieces with guesso and also go back over the canvas using large flat brush from one side to the other in one stroke . I had some art stones in my guesso so you can see them on here too lol . Let the paint dry/ can use your heat gun but not to close as the paint will bubble . I now use texture paste and 13 arts stencil on the tag and sides next to the wooden pieces. I like to let this air dry as heat gun can make the paste bubble and when dry collapses.

I am trying out the Lindy's starburst sprays . So much fun . Here I sprayed on apposite corners and used some towel scrunched up to mop any puddles or anything I did not like lol . I sprayed several times to get the coverage I liked.

The sprays dry quick !! Next I choose some Lindy's magical shakers and add some sprays to get the colour effect I want . I fill my spray bottle with water and water pen .

I used the sprays at the top and mop up with towel . I then take spray from bottle /opened.... and use the tube to directly apply the ink to the canvas from the top of the wooden pieces and then underneath . I spray with water and hold the canvas up to let the ink naturally flow down . I let it dry and do the same again and again If the colour is too dark I spray water and mop up any excess and if lighter I just add directly. I even used the pen to help the flow in the direction I needed .

I then spray on the tag and also use the Magicals using the pen to fix the flow of colours to work together .... for  the Magicals I use the sprinkle section onto the craft mat and spray water and then paint with the aqua pen .

While the ink is drying I move onto making some embellishments .
I have cut the paper cuts with small sharp scissors and used embossing ink to cover them with Lindy's embossing powder with heat gun . Adore the sparkle of these embossing powders .

I then cut a circle from the textured fabric and spray with Lindy's. I also use guesso with a smaller brush on the resin using the paint sparingly like dry brushing .

I cut some gorgeous paper for the back of the resin and used coloured beads on the frame adhered with some gel. I used the Nuvo drops on the mat for later as take some time to dry . I attached the embossed paper cuts to others that I had just sprayed directly onto to add dimension.

I put all my embellishments including these gorgeous flowers and stunning center pearl onto the canvas and moved around until happy and then glued into place . I have put some Nuvo drops in the middle of the butterfly and used the gels for the random beads around the wooden pieces . The larger flowers I have bent together so they will lie flat and add some dimension.

I have added some embroidery thread to the tag and twisted it around in places and used the embellishments and beads to hold it in place when glued/gel.

I have added some Nuvo jewel drops on the wooden pieces .

Lastly I flick my chalk pen all over the canvas
while I cover the pearl center with some towel roll .

I hope you are inspired to get crafty and please take a look at
for lots of gorgeous products and inspiration <3.
Just about everything is from the shop so why not pop over for a nosey !! It's also a great place to meet other crafters from all over the world .
