Mixed Media Makes July/ August

Hi Crafty Bloggers

I hope you are all well ...It has been lovely here in Scotland lots of lovely sunshine some rain but really a fantastic Summer ;0)

I have been so lucky to attend a Workshop retreat at Handmade in Helen's in Dumfries with Marta from MaremiSmallArt teaching us over 2 days with her wonderful Mixed Media Art . The setting and grounds in Dumfries were beautiful and I met so many wonderful crafter's it was such an awesome experience that I will treasure .

On the first day we did our first class in the morning
How to break a blank page !
We were given an old book and we placed lots of bits and bobs on the page

Then added some shading around the edges

The second project of the afternoon was to make a galaxy picture . We sprayed mists or used powder pigments with water to create two pages with similar colours one slightly lighter . We used the darker page as the background and used our circle punches to create the circles . Then we added shading around and in the circles and lastly added some words and splatters .

We also used a paper bag with stencils and guesso and used the sprays with string, stickers and some chipboard . Lastly black was used to shade and some splatters to highlight .

I was so inspired I used some of the techniques and inspiration to alter this paintbrush using metal trinkets and resin pieces. Finishing with art beads and bling.

This one I used the black guesso with the dry brushing technique

I have added little flowers in the dome

I have used Marta's awesome stickers and stencils on most of my projects available at 13 arts . Also I would highly recommend their products as we used them at the retreat and the quality and results were fantastic !!

Here are some journal pages where I have played with stencils and acrylic paint in my old book !! Love it as you don't have any plan and you never know what you are going to create in the end and the best thing if you don't like it you can paint over it and start again !!!

I was inspired by Maremi's Whisper Board on Maremi's Creative Cafe on facebook to alter this bottle with metal trinkets an old paintbrush and lastly some bling !!

I used sprays lightly and some string and stenciling for texture

I also added some chipboard

I used some dry brushing and lastly some wax and not to forget some splashes

Here is a quick journal page in my watercolor book using one of Marta's awesome videos for some doodling to relax

Another journal page inspired by Maremi's Whisper Board . Love how this turned out as I used so many stencils and drew it all and just kept adding and adding more colour

That's all my crafty fun for now I hope you are inspired to try something new and get crafting .

Liza's Craft Shop Canvas Swapsie

Hi Crafty Bloggers

How are we all? off work for a week Whoop Whoop !!
so plan to get some crafty time in <3

I decorated a canvas board for a swap at Liza's Craft Shop .
Liza's Craft Shop
I first added some tissue paper with clear guesso for texture and then used a stencil with texture paste from Liza's Craft Shop Mixed media Kit . I then placed all my chipboard pieces , metal trinkets and pebbles on the board for composition . I take a picture for reference and then paint each individually with guesso then I use the photo to guide me where to place the embellishments with matt medium

I then use Lindy's stamp gang sprays in three colours in layers drying in between until happy with the colours . To blend I use a paper towel to mop up any areas/puddles and also add water to disperse any colour .

Lastly I paint the mullberry flowers with guesso and dip in fine glitter. I use Nuvo drops on the lettering and randomly on the embellishments .

I finish with Tim Holtz stickers .

Here is my swap partners canvas wow was so excited to receive mine from Liza and wow it's stunning and a its such a fun idea so that you can treasure another crafters handmade creation !!

I adore the colours picture just does not do it justice !!

I am inspired by the textures with the lace <3

I have made 6 projects with just the first mixed media kit and love how the kits are themed and you can pay in installments . The second sea theme kit is sold out but if you want you can still get your hands on the upcoming
so why not check it out before it's gone !!!
Why not join in on the fun and meet new crafty friends and
get lots of inspiration at Liza's Craft Shop group on facebook ;0)

Crafty Bloggers

How are we all ?? It's been super hot here in Scotland with rain of course lol !! So been busy with life and cooling down lol .
First up is the last 3 cards for the #52CafeCards at

 W for Wings &  X for Kisses

For the wings I painted the butterfly with watercolours and used a permanent pen to outline. I used a die and stamp combo for the feathers . The kisses card I have used Hero Arts stamps and die and drew the lips
and coloured with watercolours again.

  Y for Yellow & Z for Zetangle

For the yellow card I have used some corrugated card and stamped images on the panels of watercolor paper with darkroom door stamps and some unbranded  stamps . I have used watercolours again and finished with a Tim Holtz sticker . Zetangle was my first try really need to concentrate for this but is so relaxing and fun to try out !!

So there are the 26 cards done looks lovely all together and I love to look at all the techniques I have tried and it's a great reminder of the learning curves too !!

Loving watercolors at the moment and tried these wonderful tutorials from Marta's YouTube channel had great fun and will make them into cards . It's a great way to get used to using them .

I adore this other video from Marta using Acrylic paints this time . I love love the little birdies more cards made <3 ..p.s I did cheat though I used a pen rather than black acrylic paint as did not have black for the silhouette .

This one was inspired by Jay Lee tutorials on Youtube and I added the doodles and was so pleased how it turned out

For the next 26  of the #52CafeCards I have decided to make them into cards this time instead of ATC's and we have inspirational boards which are amazing to inspire us

#1 MaremiWhisperBoard

I have used acrylic paints for the background and used stencils with gelatos for the circles . I have die cut the heart and stamped some butterflies and painted then with watercolours . I have added pen for shadows and some washi tape and random stamping .

#2 MaremiWhisperBoard

Here I used acrylics for the background using a make up sponge to blend . I then used a stencil with paste and then stamped over when dried. I cut the circles from some left over acrylic paint testing.... with a punch and die and I have hand drew the insect and coloured with watercolours . Lastly I have added a Tim Holtz sticker and nuvo drops .

Lastly another video trying out acrylic paints which is really quite new to me but thoroughly enjoyed playing with her tutorials !!

Used lots of stencils and stamps and make up sponge was my friend on this one .

I used the left overs for the opposite page with some stamping . Loved getting messy and using fingers to paint the flower vase .

Having so much fun learning and trying out these tutorials hoping I can evolve into my own ideas one day <3
